The Old Avoca Schoolhouse in Avoca, Nebraska is proud to be hosting a fiddle workshop with Dennis Stroughmatt, a member of the National Oldtime Fiddlers Hall of Fame. The workshop will be on Friday, June 21, from 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM. Stroughmatt’s fiddling and singing provide a vibrant blend of Celtic, Canadian and Old Time sounds, bridging the gap between contemporary Canadian and Louisiana Cajun styles. Dennis also plays and discusses French Creole, Cajun, Honky Tonk, and Western Swing fiddling. This workshop is perfect for fiddlers and other string players, who desire to add a little spice to their playing. Tune up, and join in on the fun!
