About this event
How do you take 32,000 documents and figure out the story told within? Join Dr. Rebecca Erbelding and Ron Coleman for their talk “Working an Archive: Rescuing Jews and Their Past” on Saturday, January 25th. Dr. Erbelding, historian and archivist at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, will discuss how she wrangled all of the documents for her book, “Rescue Board: The Untold Story of America’s Efforts to Save the Jews of Europe.” Coleman, Director of the Archives Branch at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, will give practical advice for making the most of a research visit to an archive. The talk begins at 1:00PM on the first floor of Criss Library with a pop-up display in UNO Libraries’ Archives and Special Collections after the talk. This event is co-sponsored by the Nebraska Jewish Historical Society, the Schwalb Center for Israel and Jewish Studies, and UNO Libraries.
