Ryan Library Faculty Profile Series and Phi Alpha Theta (History Honor Society) Lecture Series Presents: A Book Talk on "Chemical Lands: Pesticides, Aerial Spraying, and Health in North America's Grasslands since 1945" UNK Assistant Professor of History David D. Vail will discuss his new book Chemical Lands that shows a distinctly regional view of agricultural health evolved after World War II in the Great Plains. This study provides a unique perspective of the Ag pilots, weed scientists, and farmers who struggled to navigate novel technologies while striving to manage and mitigate threats to human health and the environment. Free and open to the public.
