Join Union College for an exploration of the challenges facing immigrants and refugees. The event will open with a screening of the Oscar-nominated short documentary 4.1 Miles, followed by a panel discussion with several local experts who will answer questions about how Nebraskans can respond to immigrants and refugees. The panel will include Vanja Pejanovic, Refugee Resettlement Office Site Coordinator at Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska; Christopher Banks, professor of International Relations at Union College; Pablo Colindres-Moreno, immigrant and former workforce coordinator for the State of Nebraska Department of Labor; Tom Randa, Director of the Good Neighbor Community Center; Mardan Dnu, a Yazidi refugee from Iraq; and Chris Blake, moderator and Associate Professor of English and Communication at Union College. The event is free and open to the public.
