BLUEBIRDS ACROSS NEBRASKA TO HOST 20TH ANNUAL CONFERENCE IN BEATRICE, NE
All nature lovers are invited to attend Bluebirds Across Nebraska’s (BAN) 20th Annual Conference to be held on April 4 and 5, at Aunt Mary’s Center, 111 8th Street, Beatrice, NE.
On Friday, April 4, a social hour will start at 6:00 pm. Dinner will follow at 7:00 pm. After the dinner, Al Batt, a nationally known writer and speaker, will entertain with his humorous stories. Cost for the dinner is $15.00 if registering before March 20 and $20.00 after.
Doors to the conference will open at 8:00 am on Saturday, April 5. Speakers will begin at 9:00 am. There will be a full day of speakers, including Dr. David Pitts, recently retired Biological Sciences professor at the University of Tennessee-Martin, who will speak on bluebirds and hummingbirds. Ben Vogt, owner of Monarch Gardens, will speak on gardening with wildlife in mind. Coming from Daykin, NE, Dennis Zabel’s talk is entitled “Ghosts and Ghost Towns: Past, Present and Future. Al Batt will be back on Saturday to bring laughs to all with his down-home tales.
There will be several breaks throughout the day to enjoy the camaraderie of fellow nature lovers, bid on the silent auction items and participate in the raffle. For current BAN members, the conference is free with the purchase of lunch for $10.00. After March 20th, the cost will be $15.00. For non-BAN members, the cost of the conference with lunch is $20.00. After March 20, the cost will be $30.00.
