About this event
Join us for a free community presentation at the Platte Valley Companies Performing Arts Center on the WNCC Scottsbluff campus. UNK Professor Lorene 'Jake' Jacobsen will give a preview of her nearly completed film project on the history of the Nebraska Cowboy Trail, what it takes to bike trek in Nebraska, and how recent flooding has impacted farmers and ranchers in this region. Audience members will learn the history of the depot, stories of those who live along the trail, and the development of this wonderful recreational opportunity for Nebraskans. The Nebraska Cowboy Trail stretches from Norfolk to Valentine, and work is ongoing to reach Chadron. This event is sponsored by the Western Nebraska Bicycling Club, WNCC, Legacy of the Plains Museum, and Sonny's Bike Shop. Attendees will have a chance to win a bicycle safety and repair kit or bike jersey.
