About this event
About The Show Starkweather is based on the real events which captured and terrified the state of Nebraska in late 1957 and early 1958. Written by Omaha author Doug Marr, this show is a riveting recount of the fear Nebraskans felt, and the trial of two teenagers accused of the worst crime in state history. Between December 1957 and early January 1958, 19-year-old Charles Starkweather and his 14-year-old girlfriend, Caril Ann Fugate engaged in a killing spree which ended with 11 people murdered in the states of Nebraska and Wyoming. Directed by Molly Anderson, this production received rave reviews after its Omaha Production in 2018 as well as taking home awards for BEST DRAMA and BEST DIRECTOR from This production of Starkweather looks to build on the success of its previous stagings and add new elements to the story’s telling with a dynamic production team, cast and set building concept sure to capture the intensity of the period in which these events took place.
