About this event
The Prairie Pride Film Festival is proud to announce the lineup for the fourth annual film festival. The festival will be July 24th through the 26th at The Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center at 313 North 13th Street, Lincoln NE. The Fourth Annual Prairie Pride Film Festival is proudly presented by Outlinc and thanks event sponsors: The Panic, JamesAnn Photography, Eric Brown Home Real Estate, Tom Beckius, and Zach Anderson. The festival would not be possible without numerous individual donations and extends its thanks to everyone who has provided support. Opening the festival on Thursday July 24th at 7pm is SUCH GOOD PEOPLE. This contemporary screwball comedy centers on a couple, Michael Urie (Ugly Betty) & Randy Harrison (Queer As Folk), who find a million dollars while housesitting. The film premiered in Los Angles on July 7th 2014 to great critical success. Friday, July 25th at 7pm, features REACHING FOR THE MOON, anchored by critically-acclaimed lead performances from Miranda Otto (War of the Worlds, Lord of the Rings) and Glória Pires (Smoke Gets in Your Eyes, If I Were You). This story of a frustrated poet and a beguiling architect received the Audience Award at the 2013 Outfest and Frameline Film Festivals. Saturday July 26th begins at 1pm with BOY MEET GIRL and the festival wraps at 7pm with I AM DIVINE. BOY MEETS GIRL is a funny, tender, sex positive romantic comedy that explores what it means to be a real man or woman. Robby, (Michael Welch, Twilight) and his best friend since childhood, Ricky, a gorgeous transgender girl, have never dated – but a new girl in town may change their path. I AM DIVINE is a definitive biographical portrait of Harris Glenn Milstead, a.k.a. Divine, and honors him in just the way he always craved — as a serious artist and immortal star. Divine's entire story is told, from his early days as a misfit youth in Baltimore through his rise to infamy as a cult superstar. Like the characters he portrayed in numerous films, Divine was the ultimate outsider. Following I AM DIVINE, festival producers invite film goers to join us at Karma Nightclub and Cabaret, 226 S 9th St, Lincoln NE, for their 2014 Queen of Karma Pageant beginning at 9pm. Tickets will be available the day of shows at the Ross box office. $9.75 Adults, $7.25 Students, $7.25 Children, $7.75 Military, $7.75 Seniors, and we will honor the $6.75 member price for Ross Members.
