About this event
Directors Shaul Schwarz and Christina Clusiau (Narco Cultura) explore the complex heart of contemporary issues of animal protection and commodification at a time when endangered African species such as elephants, rhinos, and lions march ever closer to extinction. Viewers will journey across the globe to meet hunters, breeders, ranchers, and other advocates motivated by economic or ecological reasons to save species threatened by over-hunting. Presented with Nebraska Wildlife Rehab, Inc. Post-show discussion will include Dr. Ryan Klataske, a cultural anthropologist and conservationist whose work focuses on wildlife conservation, natural resource management, hunting, tourism, ranching, and rural life in southern Africa and the Great Plains.
