The workshop will be Friday, August 29 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. It is free and open to the public.
Whittier’s goal for the workshop is to involve the public actively with her art—to create a work in clay that has been formed by the community. The foundation for the workshop will begin with a landscape created from clay at Whittier’s opening reception Friday, August 1 from 5pm – 8pm. The piece will be on display until the workshop Friday, August 29 at which time it will be re-installed. Whittier will begin the workshop with a presentation about her work and process. She will also discuss and introduce the public participatory landscape piece. After the workshop the piece will remain in the gallery for continued interaction with the public until the close of the exhibition on September 27.
