ART EXHIBIT OF ORIGAMI LANDSCAPES INCLUDING NEW PICTURE BOOK ILLUSTRATIONS Nationally award-winning paper artist Linda Stephen presents at Francie & Finch Bookshop in Lincoln an art exhibit of the illustrations for her new origami picture book. "The Day We Went to the Park" features Holmes Lake Park in Lincoln. The art is made entirely from paper - 3D origami sculptures and background layers of washi Japanese papers. Art reception, book launch party and book signing is Friday Feb. 7, 5:30-7:30 p.m. during First Friday Art Walk in February. Meet the artist/illustrator/co-author. The art will be on exhibit all of February, February 1-28 at Francie & Finch Bookshop 130 S. 13th St. in downtown Lincoln. Francie & Finch Hours: Monday-Friday 10 a.m. -7:30 p.m., Saturday 12 p.m.-7 p.m., Closed Sundays. Can you recognize Lincoln's own Holmes Lake Park? Rocks? Path? Bridge? Trees? Turtle? The artwork "Holmes Lake in Origami" is made from more than 1,000 paper sculptures and uses more than 300 different kinds of Japanese (washi) handmade papers.
