About this event
Ft. Atkinson State Historical Park, near Ft. Calhoun, NE. is celebrating a bicentennial event August 3 & 4 with a special Living History program. The Theme is "When the Native Americans Meet the Soldiers." Two guest speakers are Don Borcherding, presenting on Andrew Talcott, Ft. Atkinson's engineer, and Dr. Eagle T. Knife Chief presently on the Pawnee's relationship with the military. Events are from 10 AM-4:45 PM, and will also include Native American dancing and the St. Charles Lewis and Clark Fife and Drum Corps. The Smithsonian Display, "Patriot Nations: Native Americans in Our Armed Forces" will be on display. A Nebraska State Park sticker is required to be on grounds.
