LUX Center for the Arts Presents “Fracture”
by LUX Artist-in-Residence Bri Murphy
First Friday Opening June 6
5 p.m. – 8 p.m. view through June 28
Using 3D imaging technology and MRI scans of her body, Murphy forms molds of her brain and other organs. The cast porcelain organs become the centerpieces for her video and mixed-media sculptures. “Fracture” examines the fragility of the mind in both its psychological and physiological forms. The interplay between the scientific and the creative attempts to communicate an experience that is both revealing and introspective.
This opening is free and open to the public.
