Local Indie Music Featured in ‘Live at the 1200 Club’ on NET Television

LINCOLN, Neb. (April 23, 2014) -- The diversity and influence of independent music in Nebraska is presented in “Live at the 1200 Club,” a new performance series airing during May on NET Television

Taped before a live audience, the half-hour programs air Sundays at 10 p.m. CT and again at 11 p.m. CT on NET1, beginning May 4, and feature three of Nebraska’s premier indie bands captured in performance at the 1200 Club in Omaha’s Holland Performing Arts Center.

The whiskey-soaked country/folk of Kill County opens the series’ premiere program, followed by the darkly humorous sounds of folk/rock duo Big Harp on May 11, with synth-punk band Digital Leather on May 18. An hour-long best-of concert featuring all three bands, “Live at the 1200 Club Special” airs Tuesday, May 20, at 10 p.m. CT, repeating Sunday, May 25, at 10 p.m. CT on NET1.

Singles and full episodes of “Live at the 1200 Club” are also easy to catch on a variety of digital venues online including NET’s web site, the NET Nebraska mobile app and NET Nebraska’s YouTube channel. The programs can also be seen on devices like Roku, Xbox, and AppleTV via the PBS and YouTube apps.

“Live at the 1200 Club,” funded in part by the Nebraska Arts Council, is a production of NET Television in association with Hear Nebraska and Omaha Performing Arts. NET1 is part of NET Television.  NET Television is a service of NET.  For a complete program schedule, visit NET's website (netNebraska.org/television).
