Annual Shrine Football Game Broadcast on NET Television

LINCOLN, Neb. (May 15, 2013) -- They come from all across the state of Nebraska -- from Broken Bow to Wahoo and from McCook to Crete, as well as towns in between. All eager to hit the gridiron turf one more time.
It’s the “Nebraska Shrine Football Classic” with the best Nebraska high school football players from the senior class of 2013 strapping on their helmets and lacing up their cleated shoes. This annual football match-up is broadcast live Saturday, June 1, at 2 p.m. CT on NET1 and NET-HD from the Ron & Carol Cope Stadium at Foster Field in Kearney.
Calling the play-by-play action of the annual football game will be sportscaster Larry Punteney, with Adrian Fiala providing color commentary. NET Sports’ “Big Red Wrap-Up” recruiting expert Sean Callahan will give sideline reports.
Coaching the North team will be Mike Johnson from Waverly High School, with Bill Carlin from Adams Central in Hastings leading the South squad.
The annual gridiron event will also be webcast live in Flash on NET’s website (netNebraska.org). Webcasting of the series is a free service of NET.
