More than one in ten Catholics in the world live in Brazil and it was the first country Pope Benedict XVI visited outside of Europe when he was elected. Now Brazilian cardinal Odilo Scherer is among those considered as a potential contender to be the next pope. Audie Cornish talks with Reinaldo Lopes, who writes about religion for the Brazilian newspaper <em>Folha</em>, about Catholicism in the South American country.
