Inspire Nebraska Campaign
The NET Foundations for Television and Radio have exceeded the five-year, $25 million Inspire Nebraska Campaign, thanks to thousands of Nebraskans.
"Our generous campaign gifts have funded, and will continue funding local programming on NET Television and NET Radio," according to Foundations Executive Director Jeff Beckman.
Examples include such NET Television series as Nebraska Stories, Big Red Wrap-Up, and Backyard Farmer and NET Radio programs Classics By Request, Friday Live and Nebraska Concerts.
The Foundations also provide funds for NET Sports productions, covering more than 200 hours of local high school and collegiate sports each year, and NET News which provides in-depth reports on topics from youth obesity and home schooling, to science, nature and agriculture.
In addition to the generous donors, campaign co-chairs Jim Seacrest and Ron Hull have worked tirelessly on NET's behalf the past five years.
"Despite a tough economy in recent years, and a number of additional challenges in public broadcasting, Nebraskans have rallied behind NET's educational mission and given us a huge vote of confidence with their amazing support from every county in Nebraska," Beckman added.
