NET’s ‘Nebraska Concerts’ Features Nebraska Music in October

LINCOLN, Neb. (Sept. 27, 2018) – In October, NET will broadcast four episodes of “Nebraska Concerts,” a weekly radio series featuring music performed and recorded in Nebraska.

NET, Nebraska’s PBS & NPR Stations, airs “Nebraska Concerts” each Sunday at 1 p.m. CT.

October programs include:

Sunday, Oct. 7 – Omaha Symphony presents “Scheherazade.” The program features Thomas Wilkins as conductor and Susanna Perry Gilmore on violin. The music was recorded in June 2016.

Sunday, Oct. 14 – Nebraska Brass presents “Brasstastic!” which was recorded Feb. 17, 2018, and Nebraska Trumpet Ensemble and Friends which was recorded April 29, 2018.

Sunday, Oct. 21 – The Lincoln Youth Symphony plays one piece alongside Lincoln’s Symphony Orchestra, and then the orchestra presents “Beethoven 6 & 8” with Ed Polochick conducting. The music was recorded April 6, 2018.

Sunday, Oct. 28 – As part of a collaboration between Arts for the Soul and the Lincoln Organ Showcase, enjoy “A Festival of Hymns with John Ferguson,” with John Ferguson on organ. The music was recorded March 14, 2018.
