NET’s ‘Good, Healthy Life’ Offers Wellness Tips

LINCOLN, Neb. (Nov. 2, 2018) – Wellness is a lifelong journey and staying healthy begins in our homes, communities, schools and at work.

To help keep Nebraskans healthy, NET, Nebraska’s PBS & NPR Stations, offers expert guidance on the television series “Good, Healthy Life.” The November episode premieres in primetime on NET World at 6 p.m. CT, Friday, Nov. 16.

The series takes viewers to Blair and Lincoln to examine how both employees and businesses benefit from workplace wellness, even when companies start by implementing just small steps. Also, learn about Nebraska organizations that guide businesses through the process of identifying employee wellness needs, and getting wellness programs started.

This episode of “Good, Healthy Life” also explores how the communities of Scottsbluff, Gering and Alliance encourage healthy, active lifestyles for their citizens. In many rural areas of the state, it can be difficult to located wellness resources, but partnerships have made wellness efforts more feasible and employees are making healthier choices.

The series is hosted by television anchor and medical reporter Melanie Dawkins. In November, the panel of health and wellness experts includes: Lisa Henning, director of WorkWell for the Nebraska Safety Council in Lincoln; and Michele Bever, executive director of the South Heartland District Health Department in Hastings.

“Good, Healthy Life” also airs on NET World at noon CT on Monday, Nov. 12; 10 a.m. CT on Sunday, Nov. 18; and at 12:30 p.m. CT on Friday, Nov. 23 and Tuesday, Nov. 27.
