‘Friday LIVE’ Features Singer-Songwriters Susan Werner, Dustin Prinz at Lied Center

LINCOLN, Neb. (Jan. 14, 2019) – NET’s “Friday LIVE” arts and entertainment radio show will feature special performances from singer-songwriter Susan Werner, Nebraska artist Dustin Prinz and the Nebraska Chamber Players when it broadcasts at 9 a.m., Friday, Jan. 25, live from the Lied Commons at the Lied Center for Performing Arts, 301 N. 12th St., in Lincoln.

The public is invited to this free event with complimentary refreshments served at 8:30 a.m.

Susan Werner

Much of Werner’s work has been in the contemporary folk genre. Born in Iowa and raised on her family’s farm near Manchester, she returns to Lincoln after sold-out shows across the country to perform music from her album, “An American in Havana.” Inspired by her recent travels to Cuba, the album features arrangements by legendary Cuban percussionist Mayra Casales, along with Werner’s trademark song craft and wry, poetic lyrics.

Prinz was born and raised in rural Nebraska. His upbringing gave him an interesting take on life, pushing the boundaries of indie pop. His guitar playing is a blend of hybrid picking and guitar tapping developed during his days as a drummer.Dustin Prinz

“Friday LIVE” host Genevieve Randall will give audience members the latest about music, arts, literature and events happening around the state. Nebraska Chamber Players will talk about their upcoming concerts as will Nebraska Brass. Other guests include Rennie Harris whose dance company has an upcoming performance at the Lied.

Those who can’t attend the event can stream audio or video of “Friday LIVE” at netnebraska.org, watch via the NET Radio Facebook Live feed or listen at 9 a.m. on 91.1 FM.
