PBS Digital Innovators Program Calls For Applicants

LINCOLN, Neb. (Jan.19, 2017) – Educators from across the country – classroom changemakers who excel at using technology and digital media to spark learning in their classrooms – are encouraged to enter the 2017 PBS LearningMedia Digital Innovators Program.

The call for entries will remain open through Feb. 13. Educators are asked to submit a 60- to 180-second video to show how they’re using PBS LearningMedia resources, along with digital technology, to enhance their teaching and inspire students. Entrants will also be asked to complete a profile and answer two essay questions. The online application is available at

Now in its fifth year, this program selects one educator from each state to participate. These educators receive a three-day all-expense paid trip to San Antonio, Texas in June to participate in the 2017 PBS Digital Innovators Summit and the International Society for Technology in Education conference. 

All PBS Digital Innovators will also receive ongoing professional development including virtual trainings focused on best practices, access to exclusive resources, invitations to special events, a free PBS TeacherLine course, networking opportunities and a choice of a digital gift to use in their classroom.

PBS LearningMedia is available through NET via the NET Virtual Learning Library at With lesson plans that tie to state standards, NET’s Virtual Learning Library is a free resource that captures students’ imaginations and nurtures a love of learning. The 2017 PBS LearningMedia Digital Innovators will be announced March 15.
