Backyard Farmer Live Taping June 17

‘Backyard Farmer’ Event On East Campus

LINCOLN, Neb. (June 7, 2017) – The popular lawn and garden television series “Backyard Farmer” is celebrating 65 years with a live taping of the show at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 17. Area residents are invited to be part of the audience at the Backyard Farmer Garden, 3850 Center St., UNL East Campus. Cake will be served following the taping and this program will air June 22 on NET.

This event is free and open to the public, but registration is required at netNebraska.org/BYF65 or by calling (800) 634-6788. Audience members are invited to bring their questions for the “Backyard Farmer” experts. Master gardeners will also be available before and after the show to answer lawn and garden questions.

The “Backyard Farmer” Facebook page is a great place to visit for announcements and other garden information. In addition, its YouTube channel is a popular place to view past features and programs.

“Backyard Farmer” is the longest-running, locally-produced television series in the nation and airs Thursdays at 7 p.m. on NET. The program repeats Saturdays at 10 a.m. CT on NET and Sundays at 3 p.m. CT on NET Create. For a complete program schedule, visit netNebraska.org/schedules.
