Experience the excitement of Walk Ons: Huskers’ Edge…
More than 80,000 fans fill Memorial Stadium in Lincoln each fall, the roar of the crowd rising from a sea of scarlet as the Husker football players take the field. The team is comprised of young men who come to the University of Nebraska from every state in the nation, eager to play for the five-time national championship team. But not every team member has to travel far -- some players come from tiny towns scattered across Nebraska and proudly “walk on” to the field simply to fulfill their lifelong dream of playing for Nebraska.
NET Television’s upcoming high-definition documentary, Walk Ons: Huskers’ Edge, tells the story of the University of Nebraska’s football walk-on program, from its start in the early 1960s under the leadership of Bob Devaney and Tom Osborne, to its near demise in 2003, and more recently to its revitalization under Bo Pellini.
The Walk Ons: Huskers' Edge event on July 30 is sponsored by AAA Nebraska, Marcus Theatres and Village Pointe.
NET Road Trip!
NET hit the road last week, traveling to Scottsbluff, Grand Island and Hastings for various events, including the premiere of the American Masters documentary Garrison Keillor: The Man on the Radio in the Red Shoes; Friday Live at the Blue Moon Coffee Company in Hastings; and the NET Radio-sponsored Bill Wimmer Project Omaha jazz concert at the Cottonwood Festival in Hastings. What a great way to kick off summer… and we were delighted to meet so many NET fans along the way.

Not Your Garden-Variety Donor
As a longtime and loyal member of both NET Television and NET Radio, Kenneth Good particularly enjoyed NET Radio’s Big Band Spotlight, and the nightly news programs on NET Television. He bequeathed $10,000 to each organization’s permanent endowment, where it will support programming in perpetuity. Ken also supported several other organizations close to his heart. But what’s surprising is that even Ken’s closest friends didn’t know that he was a budding philanthropist.
