Artist Dale Nichols (David City) took his childhood memories of rural Nebraska landscapes and turned them into paintings. Today they are national treasures.
A group of Omaha philanthropists found an inventive way to help struggling high school kids transform their lives. Begun in 2008, the Avenue Scholars program has met with continued success – just like the students it serves.
“A Promise Kept”
In 1877, at the request of her grieving parents, the people of Neligh agreed to care for the grave of a Ponca Indian girl. Since that day, the town has tended the grave and recently, the tribe said thank you in a special ceremony.
