Deafening Sound: Even Toys Can Hurt

November 18, 2010

Just take the time to put your children's sound-producing toys up to your ears for a minute, then honk, squeeze, push, pull or press to get that sound out of the toy and into your ear. Not so bad?? Okay, now cuddle the toy, like your child might, putting the source of the sound next to your ear. Surprised? 130 decibels or more can cause immediate hearing loss in your child.
