NET News Statewide: Perspective - New Nebraskans, 4/2/04

April 6, 2004

If you've ever been to another country and couldn't speak or understand the language spoken, you probably felt helpless. Imagine how it would feel if that was your new home. That's the way it is for thousands of Nebraskans. Each year thousands of refugees and immigrants come to the United States in search of a better life. Hundreds of them settle in Nebraska to make their new home. Statewide's Perry Stoner has this perspective report on the new Nebraskans. Who they are, why the came here, and what they face when looking for their own piece of the good life.
