Research supports what common sense has always told us – parents play a critical role in their children’s education. Studies show, that parent involvement benefits students and schools in a variety of ways. Student attendance increases; student attitudes and achievements improve; and the number of discipline problems goes down. This is true regardless of a family’s socio-economic status, education level, or cultural background. By forming a partnership, parents and schools can work together to identify the challenges in parental involvement - or the lack of it - and find ways to overcome these problems. Find out about innovative approaches Nebraska educators are using to support and engage today’s parents in their child’s education.
