This episode takes a look at Alice's Integrity Loan Fund, a groundbreaking micro-lending program that banks on old-fashioned values like trust and integrity. Retired banker Alice Dittman established the $1 million fund with the help of the Lincoln Community Foundation and Community Development Resources in Lincoln. Host Jeff Beckman travels to Kearney and visits with UNK Chancellor Doug Kristensen about the tremendous upswing that the university is experiencing, largely thanks to philanthropy. More than $3 million in contributions to UNK's Music Department supports a very bright future for orchestra music education and performance throughout central Nebraska. And a Kearney screenwriter is following in the footsteps of the beloved 102-year old philanthropist Carol Cope by scripting a new chapter in the life of a downtown institution, The World Theatre.
