Laurie McClain and Michael Campbell
Lincoln
folk performer/songwriter Laurie McClain, whose music has been described
as "earthy, truthful, heartfelt ...," is featured before a coffee
house audience. Some of McClain's songs deal with the world's hassles
and heartaches, while on others she sings of a kinder, gentler world.
And some of her songs have a humorous side that can't help but bring a
smile to your face. During the 30-minute concert McClain performs several
of her own compositions, including "Searcher's Lament," "The
Other Wedding Song," "My Heaven," "Let It Go,"
"When You Forgot to Hide" and "We Were All Babies."
Performing with McClain are Steve Hanson on guitar, and Terry Keefe on
fiddle.
Likened
to James Taylor and Dan Fogelberg, Omaha-based songwriter/performer Michael
Campbell is accompanied by The McBand, including Mark Rotherman on drums,
Eric Carlson on bass and Bunny Geist on guitar. During the 30-minute concert
- videotaped as part of Nebraska ETV's series of live- on-tape studio
concerts - Campbell performs "Run to Me," "Don't Want to
Get Older,""So Much to Learn," "Arborville,"
"Long Way to Fall,""Take Control," "Polly,"
"Lead Me to the River" and "Go Away." Several of the
songs are from Campbell's latest album, Arborville.
