About this event

A free community film screening of “Always in Season,” an exploration of the impact of lynching in America, will take place at 6 p.m. CT, Tuesday, Jan. 21, in the Swanson Auditorium of the Nebraska Union at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, 1400 R St. A panel discussion will follow.

The film and conversation are part of the free “Indie Lens Pop-Up” series presented by ITVS, “Independent Lens” and NET, Nebraska’s PBS & NPR Stations, in partnership UNL Student Affairs and the “Dish it Up!” discussion during UNL’s MLK Week, celebrating the life of Martin Luther King Jr.

In “Always in Season,” descendants of the victims and perpetrators of lynching are working together to heal a violent history.

“Indie Lens Pop-Up” is the neighborhood screening series that brings people together for community-driven conversations around documentaries from the award-winning PBS series, “Independent Lens” on NET.

This season’s films center around the question: What’s your vision for your neighborhood?
