Leonard Thiessen, most remembered as an art critic for the Omaha World-Herald and the first director of the Nebraska Arts Council, left a lasting impact on Nebraska’s art scene. Spotlight On: Leonard Thiessen showcases many of his seldom-seen works in MONA’s collection. From paintings to prints, drawings to experimental artistic musings, the Museum of Nebraska Art has over 100 pieces by the artist in addition to an extensive archive of his papers and ephemera.

Photographs of the October 15, 1969 Moratorium to End the War in Vietnam demonstration in Omaha taken by Dr. Sam Walker are on display in UNO Libraries’ Archives & Special Collections through November 1, 2019.
The exhibit features reproductions of over 20 of the photographs shot by Walker when he was a UNO graduate student in the history department.
