An Issue of Trust: News Not Fiction

Air Date: 10/03/2019

Humanities Nebraska assembled a series of community conversations across the state to discuss the issue of growing mistrust facing the news media today. Journalism matters because democracy matters. An Issue of Trust: News Not Fiction includes highlights from three Nebraska community conversations featuring local and national reporters.

Join the community of Nebraska, as we explore the state of news media in our society and how this relates to American democracy. An Issue of Trust is a body of local, regional, and Pulitzer voices representing a variety of perspectives and prompting community conversations across the state. Events were held in Kearney, Lincoln, North Platte, Norfolk, Omaha, and Scottsbluff in October and November of 2018. These programs are presented by Humanities Nebraska in partnership with the Federation of State Humanities Councils, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, The Pulitzer Prizes, and NET. This program is funded in part by Humanities Nebraska and the Nebraska Cultural Endowment.
