Lost Writers of the Plains

The Plains have brought forth many famous authors. Don’t look for them here. But the writers you’ve never heard of are worth reading too. Fine writers have been and still are lost for reasons that have nothing to do with the quality of their work. This website explains why these writers were lost—and why they should be remembered.

On this website you can:

• stream or download free audio of these authors' stories, poems, plays and essays read aloud
• read the stories yourself as they originally appeared in the journal Prairie Schooner
• play one or all eight of NET's 3-minute radio essays exploring their achievements
• find out about their life and work through videos with contemporary poets and historians.
