Piano teachers making a difference

At this very moment, in houses, in churches, alone and in groups, Nebraskans are making music. It's been that way as long as there have been people on this land. Native flutes, Czech accordions, gospel choirs and garage bands - all kinds of music from all kinds of people. A traveling Smithsonian exhibit called "New Harmonies" celebrates the variety of music making in Nebraska. Hastings College Music Professor Robin Koozer (KOO-zhur) is the resident scholar for the exhibition. In a recent interview, he talked about a major force in music-making in Nebraska - the small town piano teacher.
