Even with its recent ups and downs, ethanol remains a booming business for Nebraska. Half of Nebraska's corn crop now goes into ethanol production. And ethanol is Nebraska's second-largest industry, after livestock. Still, the industry continues to face many questions about its impact on the environment and the economy. At a research site near Murdock, federal scientists are trying to take a big-picture look at those concerns. Sarah McCammon visited the site and filed this report.
