Nearly 330,000 Nebraskans have already submitted early ballots in the 2020 General Election.

About 508,000 people total have requested a mail-in ballot, according to the nonpartisan U.S. Elections Project.

Every registered voter in the state was mailed an application for an absentee ballot, by either county or state election officials.

Ballots accepted so far are nearly evenly split between Democrats and Republicans, with about 41% each. Less than 1% of ballots returned are for a minor party, and 16.5% are from Independent voters.

About 38% of registered Republicans have requested a mail-in ballot. So far, 60% of those ballots have been returned.

More than half of registered Democrats have requested an absentee ballot, with about 187,000 requests. Nearly 73% of those ballots have been returned.

Independent and Libertarian voters have lower rates of ballot requests than either major party.
