Doane University and the software company Don’t Panic Labs want to bolster Nebraska's place on the so-called "Silicon Prairie."

The two recently announced plans to resume Nebraska Dev Labs, a training program for aspiring software developers.

CEO of Don’t Panic Labs Doug Durham said there is a shortage of programmers in Nebraska — that's why the nine month training is geared toward those looking to gain new skills.

"I feel like ultimately the program is to get people that are already out of school and they may already be working, to create a path for them to change directions without them assuming any significant economic burden to do it," Durham said.

Businesses and organizations can also sponsor applicants with no programming experience. More information is available on the company's website: dontpaniclabs.com.
