Gov. Pete Ricketts says health officials are working to correct data errors on the state’s COVID-19 online dashboard.

The website includes details about the pandemic in Nebraska, including the total number of cases, deaths, and hospitalizations.

Ricketts says the section that lists the number of tests and cases by day is not up-to-date, partially because rapid tests recently administered at nursing homes are not connected to the main database.

"Those have to be caught up because they were manually being entered, and so we’re trying to get caught up on those manual entries," Ricketts said. "The positives were getting entered as a priority, but the negatives were not. So we need to get those entered into the system."

And Ricketts says a problem with the website code caused a glitch that is inaccurately reporting the number of total daily tests.

The state’s average positivity rate has been between 11% and 13% for the past week. Once the website is caught up with negative tests over that period of time, the positivity rate may go down.
