Douglas County Shares COVID-19 Update

Douglas County Health Director Dr. Adi Pour gave an update on COVID-19 today.

Pour shared information about where people are getting sick. Travel exposure is up two percent over past few weeks. Community and contact spread are causing the same amount of cases.

Pour also talked about COVID-19 clusters, where two or more cases can be connected. She said there are noticeable numbers of clusters in food processing, long-term care facilities, and the construction industry.

Pour said the Douglas County Health Department has added a COVID-19 risk-dial to its website, which will be updated on Mondays.

"The measures that go into the dial...[include] the positivity rate, the case number, the patients in the hospital and patients on ventilator, the percentage of community spread, the testing availability, what is the percentage of our contact investigations that we are able to do within 24 hours," Pour said.

Pour added the death rate in Douglas County is slightly lower than the state average.
