UNL Plans for In-Person Classes Whenever Possible While Offering Accommodations

This coming semester the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is going to try to have as many in-person classes as possible, however, accommodations will be made when needed.

Professors who are in the high-risk category for COVID-19 will be able to apply for alternative work arrangements, such as having smaller class sizes, flexible scheduling or other options depending on the circumstance.

Leslie Reed, the director of public affairs at UNL, said they still want to be able to give students the university experience but know this year will provide challenges.

"We are committed to preserving the high-quality educational experience our students expect as well as the global impact of our research," Reed said. "But we are also committed to promoting safety and protecting the campus and the larger community."

Fall semester classes will begin on August 17, and the first week of classes will be held online.
