Ashfall Fossil Beds Historical Park in north-central Nebraska is set to reopen on July 1.

The state park has been closed since the middle of March. Membership Manager Caroline Clements said they are excited to reopen the Fossil Beds, but in a safe manner. Social distancing, sanitizing, and other safety measures will be put in place at the park.

“Our whole goal has been to open in a manner that will allow visitors to still appreciate the uniqueness of the site, but do so in a way that will promote and protect the health and safety of our visitors and our staff,” Clements said.

Visitors are encouraged to wear masks while on the site, and disposable face masks will be available upon request. Tickets must be bought ahead of time and all visitors must have a state park permit on their vehicle.
