Lincoln officials are proposing Omaha’s White Lotus Group redevelop the Pershing Center block, located on the Centennial Mall in Lincoln.

Prior to the construction of Pinnacle Bank Arena, the Pershing Center served as the city’s primary event center. The proposal calls for the Pershing Center to be demolished to make way for the new project.

Director of Urban Development Dan Marvin said the redevelopment will build affordable housing units, childcare facilities, retail space, and more.

"A vision of really trying to create activity over on, really an iconic street, Centennial Mall," Marvin said. "So, we’re expecting that this will be a fantastic development."

The Urban Development Department has plans to work with the developer on a schedule. When an agreement is decided, the plan will be sent to City Council for a vote.
