Lincoln Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird said five new COVID-19 cases have been identified in Lancaster County Wednesday.

Health officials say testing centers have only been using 75% of their available capacity, so there are still plenty of tests available.

Gaylor Baird also said the city is encouraging residents to focus on physical and mental wellbeing for themselves, their families, and individuals they know who may be at high-risk. She said the city has launched a new program called NeighborLNK to assist at-risk individuals.

“Through our new NeighborLNK program, which directly pairs volunteers who are healthy with homebound seniors and persons with disabilities who are seeking support with errands and other medication pickups, as well as connection through phone and video calls,” Gaylor Baird said.

Gaylor Baird said focusing on wellbeing and service will not only benefit individuals and their families but the entire community.
