Adams County Confirms First COVID-19 Case

A woman in her 40s is central Nebraska's first confirmed case of COVID-19, according to a statement from the South Heartland District Health Department.

The case is connected to recent travel in Europe and the woman is self-isolating at home in Adams County, the Wednesday evening statement says.

South Heartland District Health is based in Hastings and covers Adams, Clay, Nuckolls, and Webster counties.

According to the department's website, five Nebraskans in the region have been tested for COVID-19; three tests were negative and one test is pending.
