The Gretna community is mourning the deaths of four teenage girls in a single car accident this week.

The Sarpy County Sheriff today released the names of the victims: 15-year-old Alexandria Minardi, and 16-year-olds Addisyn Pfeifer, Kloe Odermatt, and Abigail Barth. A fifth girl, 15-year-old Roan Brandon, is in the hospital in serious but stable condition.

Gretna Public Schools Superintendent Kevin Riley says the five girls were the best of friends.

“Our collective heart in our community is shattered," Riley said. "We ache for the families."

Sheriff Jeff Davis says they believe speed was a factor in the crash, but the investigation is ongoing.

"We turn over every stone to try and figure out what happened," Davis said. "Including something wrong with the vehicle, looking at the roadway, driving conditions, making sure we find out the whereabouts of these individuals prior to the accident."

Police say the emergency call came in about ten minutes after the crash on Monday night at about 11 p.m.

A memorial with flowers and photos of the girls marks the spot of the crash in a rural area near 180th and Platteview Road.
