October 9, 2018 - 2:19pm

Lincoln will host a two-day conference and exhibition next week (Oct. 16 & 17) focusing on the latest advancements in wind and solar renewable energy technologies in the state of Nebraska.

The 11th annual Nebraska Wind and Solar Conference and Exhibition will take place Tuesday and Wednesday. The event will feature local and national experts on solar and wind energy in the state with presentations from the government, non-profit and private sectors demonstrating renewable energy issues and current technological solutions these industries are pursuing.

John Hansen, chair for the upcoming conference and president of the Nebraska Farmers Union, said the event is educational and provides a platform to push Nebraska further into affordable, renewable wind and solar resources.

“We really go at it with a Nebraska nice approach, for just sharing information, getting to know folks, visiting with each other, doing the networking and figuring out how we move wind and solar energy forward,” Hansen said.

For those interested in attending the two-day conference and exhibition, registration for the general public is $175 in advance and $200 on the day of the conference. Students are encouraged to attend at a discounted price of $65.
