Severe Weather Could Cause Flooding Issues in Eastern Nebraska

October 8, 2018 - 11:31am

Eastern Nebraska is expected to see lots of rain over the next couple of days. The National Weather Service in Valley, Nebraska says you can expect the high levels of rainfall to cause some flooding.

While not expected to be severe, drivers and pedestrians should still take caution with the weather conditions and not attempt to drive or trek through any floodwaters.

Katie Gross, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Valley, says river levels will be something to watch.

“There might be some flooding due to rising river levels. This is basically looking at Eastern Nebraska and Southwest Iowa," Gross said. "There has been a lot of moisture over the area, especially the last several days, so increased water is definitely going to bring up the river levels.”

More information on the upcoming weather and potential flooding can be found on the National Weather Service website.
