The organizer of the event, Tess Anisco, wanted to create something never before seen in Omaha or anywhere in Nebraska.

“I want people to actually enjoy, celebrate, learn and educate them and promote the Asian heritage. At the same time, sharing all of the delicious foods, sharing all the fun activities, sharing all the cultural performances,” Anisco said.

Some of the activities include martial arts demonstrations, cultural dances, a yo-yo championship and an egg roll eating contest. There will also be a number of public figures attending the event including Mrs. Nebraska, Anna Peters.

Anisco said she hopes this can become an annual event and is excited about sharing the Asian heritage with Nebraska.

“I just want people to come out, have fun, learn about the culture and I just want people to know we are all united, we can all be as one. Whatever race you are, this is not just focused for Asian people or just Asian heritage, it is for everyone to share,” Anisco said.
