Two farming field day training workshops are set for the next two Saturdays, June 23rd and 30th at Community Crops at Prairie Pines in Lincoln. The workshops are designed to help new and beginning farmers get a start in agriculture.

The workshops will be hosted by the Center for Rural Affairs and will focus on educating young farmers on the steps to successfully starting their own farm. Project Organizer, Kirstin Bailey, said she hopes students will learn the first steps on how to achieve success in farming.

“I think they should walk away with a good plan on how to take their farm dream and how to make it a reality and kind of the steps they need to take,” Bailey said.

Bailey says participants will also learn about funding opportunities from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The workshops will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. both Saturday the 23rd and 30th at Prairie Pines, 3100 N. 112th Street, Lincoln.
