The Nebraska Legislature’s Executive Board meets Monday to talk about what -- if anything -- to do about Sen. Bill Kintner’s use of his state computer for cybersex.

Executive Board Chairman Bob Krist says it’s important for the board to be clear. “We need to take some action or tell the world why we’re not taking action,” Krist said.

Kintner has acknowledged misusing his computer and been fined $1,000 by the Accountability and Disclosure Commission. But he has said he will not resign.

In a memo to executive board members, Krist outlines three options: asking for a special session to debate impeachment, expulsion or censure. A special session requires support from 33 senators. Krist says they could also call a meeting of the Legislative Council, all 49 senators, to consider expulsion or censure. Or they could impose sanctions like taking away, limiting or monitoring Kintner’s computer use. Kintner has been invited to testify at Monday’s hearing. Below is a copy of Krist's memo.
